PDC (Polycrystalline Diamond Compact) bits are widely used in drilling operations due to their superior performance compared to traditional bits. PDC bits are made of a diamond-impregnated matrix and can drill through hard and abrasive rock formations more efficiently than traditional bits.
PDC core bits are specifically designed for core drilling, which is the process of extracting cylindrical rock samples from the ground. These bits have a diameter range from 76mm to 152mm and are capable of drilling faster than traditional core bits. They are commonly used in geological drilling, coal mining, hydraulic and hydropower engineering, as well as construction engineering of roadway, rail, and bridge.
On the other hand, PDC non-core bits have a diameter range from 75mm to 135mm and are mainly used for drilling water wells, geothermal wells, degassing holes, drain holes, and grouting holes in coal mines, oil and gas drilling. These bits are designed for non-core drilling, where the drilling fluid carries the cuttings to the surface, unlike core drilling where the rock sample is extracted from the ground.
Both PDC core and non-core bits offer several advantages over traditional drilling bits, including faster drilling speed, longer bit life, and better overall performance in various drilling applications. OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) availability also provides customers with more options for customizing their drilling equipment to meet their specific needs.
